Provided for those who will be transporting radioactive material by road across the University. Course DetailsWhen radioactive material is being transported on public roads, i.e. from one campus to another, there is a requirement that those transporting the material should undergo training. The RPU previously presented this training as a transport module in the Basic Course in Radiation Protection in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and Therapy course. However, this module has been replaced by the standalone Transport of radioactive substances training course. This updated training course contains information on the university’s arrangements for transporting radioactive substances safely and also provides persons with an awareness of the hazards and risks from radioactive materials. Competence AssessmentThere is a short 15 question competence assessment that must be completed once you have completed the training.Upon successful completion of the assessment please email radiation@ed.ac.uk who will provide you with a certificate.
