Guidance

The event guidance has been produced following consultation with staff who are tasked with organising smaller scale events in addition to their normal duties. 

Recognising that those organising internal events do so infrequently as part of their role, the guidance is laid out as a step-by-step process to ensure that events are adequately planned and sufficiently risk assessed.  

Organisers are provided with clarity on which events are within their remit and which should be passed, at the early project stage, to Festivals and Events or ACE. 

The guidance includes signposting to consider additional issues such as approvals, licences, and insurance. 

Information on key areas, such as risk assessment, is supplemented in the appendices, with worked and detailed examples and checklists to aid risk assessment completion.
