This training course is for those using the RETAIN system to record usage and disposals of unsealed radioactive materials at the University. RETAIN is an online recording system for recording the usage and disposals of unsealed radioisotopes. Details about RETAIN can be found on the RETAIN webpage (EASE aunthenticated). As RETAIN is being rolled out systematically not all areas are using the system yet. Your RPS should be able to inform you of the recording system in your area, or please contact radiation@ed.ac.uk if you are uncertain. Course Content The course is comprised of: Training presentation Two short RETAIN demo videos Training examples to be carried out on TEST RETAIN to provide familiarity with the system A short assessment to prove competency Suitability If your RPS has instructed you that you will be using RETAIN then you should undertake this course at the first opportunity. Your RPS will check assessment results before allowing work to commence. You may also wish to take this course as a refresher if you are not using it regularly. The course can be taken as many times as you wish. Course Access This course available to staff in People and Money.
