Provision of portable fire safety equipment

Portable fire fighting extinguishers are available in all buildings within the University Estate.

Fire extinguishers are provided to support first aid fire fighting and should only be used by trained staff.

Servicing, testing and maintenance

The distribution and maintenance of the extinguishers is the responsibility of the Fire Safety Unit and the provision and supply of the extinguishers is closely monitored.

Core Fire Ltd undertake the statutory servicing, testing and maintenance of fire extinguishers and fire blanket, with an agreed protocol for access in place.
