Health and Safety Department

The Health and Safety Department is part of the Corporate Services Group and provides expert guidance and advice on all aspects of occupational safety and health to the entire University community, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, the University Health and Safety Policy, and current best practice, across the wide range of activities undertaken by the University.

The Health and Safety Department consists of the Directorate team and three specialist areas:

  • Directorate
    • Director of Health and Safety
    • Deputy Director (Operational Management and Core Safety Advisory Services)
    • Deputy Director (Specialist Safety Advisory Services)
    • Deputy Director (Health and Wellbeing - Staff)
  • Operational Management and Core Safety Advisory Services
    • Business operations and admin support including finance
    • Fire safety
    • General safety including training and auditing
  • Specialist Safety Advisory Services
    • Radiation protection
    • Biological safety
    • Chemical safety
  • Health and Wellbeing 
    • Occupational health service
    • Staff disability advice service
