The Health and Safety Department provide first aid training to our community. Staff requiring requalification training will be contacted directly with a course date near to when their current certificate expires. First aid requirements Requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Training Facilities Most courses are run in the Health and Safety Training and Audit Unit's excellent training facilities in Charles Stewart House on Chambers Street. First Aid at Work A 3 day course which provides detailed training in theoretical and practical aspects of First Aid at work. First Aid at Work Requalification A 2 day course to update the First Aid at Work certificate when their certificate expires after three years. First Aid at Work Annual Refresher This 3 and half hour course is aimed at staff who wish to refresh their skills and knowledge having previously attained the First Aid at Work qualification but not due for Requalification training within the next six months. Emergency First Aid at Work This one day course is aimed at staff who wish to attain a basic knowledge of first aid and become competent at Emergency First Aid at Work. Defibrillator Training This course is aimed at staff who would like to learn how to use an AED and perform CPR. First Aid Self Assessment Module First Aid Self Assessment Module on LEARN Additional Training The Training and Audit Unit is also able to tailor courses to your particular work area, for example, Paediatric First Aid training for the University Nursery Staff.
