Course on safely using a powered hood This course is aimed at all staff or students who currently wear or will be required to wear a powered hood (for example 3M jupiter or versaflo). Course outline The course covers the requirement for risk assessment and other control measures before going into more detail about looking after your mask including videos produced by 3M and Sundstrom. It is recommended that this course is completed annually as a refresher following a hands on training session initially. Accessing the course This course is available in People and Money (for staff) and Learn Ultra (for students). Information on how to enrol is detailed below. STAFF: Self-enrol on Powered hood RPE training in People and Money STUDENTS The course is available but Learn Ultra does not allow students to self-enrol on courses. We are currently working on a solution for this, but if you require access to this training in the meantime, please email safety.training@ed.ac.uk with your name, student number and the course you wish to be enrolled on, and you will be manually enrolled.
